January, 2001 - PianoDisc has introduced a new version of its Music Expansion (MX) optional music storage system, the MX Platinum. This system utilizes flash memory to store music for the PianoDisc player systems.
The MX Platinum comes with 35 hours of free music. This includes 25 hours of acoustic piano and 10 hours of piano music with synthesized orchestral accompaniment. Additional music can also be added to MX Platinum; different formats can be mixed, matched and added, like PianoDisc, Standard MIDI (type 0) and others.
MX Platinum features are accessible from the PianoDisc system's remote control or the front panel of its control box. It is a non-volatile memory, like a hard drive, and has 32 megabytes of flash storage. Additionally, the system features 10 different pre-programmed libraries and two additional libraries, which are available for the end-user to customize. With MX Platinum, PianoDisc can play uninterrupted for hours---no change of disks or CDs is necessary.
