David Benoit records for PianoDisc
New PianoVideo will show jazz great in High Def
November 07, 2008
David Benoit,
one of the busiest and most successful jazz artists on the scene today, has just recorded his first project for PianoDisc.
David Benoit Solo Passage,
is a PianoVideo-HD, a high definition music video that plays your piano live, in sync with Benoit's performance on screen. In addition to his original compositions ("Kei's Song" and "Dad's Room" are among the titles), Benoit also performs a tribute to Vince Guaraldi with a medley of songs from the
Peanuts
animated TV specials: "Christmas Time Is Here", "Skating", "You're In Love, Charlie Brown" and "Linus & Lucy". Benoit has written and performed music for the series himself for over ten years.
A five-time GRAMMY® nominee, Benoit has made an indelible mark on contemporary jazz. He pioneered the popular smooth jazz sound in the ‘80s, and continues to attract fans, critical acclaim and the most coveted awards in the music industry with his straight-ahead jazz recordings, his television and film scores, and his classical compositions. In June 2003, Benoit was named Keyboardist of the Year in the 4th Annual National Smooth Jazz Awards, the third time he’s claimed this top honor.
PianoDisc expects an early 2009 release for the video.
